PSA: Not every complaint needs a manager called over

I worked customer service at a Best Buy in Columbus for 5 years, and I noticed people now think yelling gets them faster help. It actually slows things down because we have to follow protocol before we can even look up your order. Has anyone else noticed how much calmer interactions go when you just ask for a specific person by name?

Used to be a 'get the manager' person myself but you're totally right, it never actually helped.

Has anyone else found that a simple "hey, can you help me out with this?" works way better than raising your voice? @iris_jones89 I learned the same lesson after a few times of getting nowhere with that approach. It just makes everyone defensive instead of actually solving the problem.
