Shoutout to the guy at Harbor Freight who told me I was stripping bolts wrong

For two years I was always cranking down on my socket wrench like a gorilla, stripping every bolt on my truck. This older cashier saw me buying a replacement set for the third time and just said 'you're not using a torque wrench for those 12mm bolts are you?' He showed me the difference and now I haven't stripped a single one in 6 months. Anyone else ever get a reality check from a random employee that actually helped?

That bit about cranking on it like a gorilla hit a little too close to home... I was that guy for years, just leaning on my ratchet until something gave. Turns out, letting the tool do the work actually works way better than just muscling it.
