That return policy at Target caught me slipping on a blender

I watched three people in line at the Target on 4th Street try to return opened electronics without receipts and get turned away hard. If you toss the packaging or don't keep the credit card you used, you're out $60 and stuck with a dead blender like I was last month. Has anyone else gotten burned by tossing the box too soon?

That line about getting turned away hard hit close to home. I read somewhere that Target's system flags returns if you don't have the receipt or card, so they literally can't process it even if they want to.
