That time I picked the grocery pickup over going inside after a long day

Last Tuesday I had to choose between doing my grocery run inside the store or using the new curbside pickup at our local Publix. I was tired after work so I tried the pickup service for the first time. The app let me pick my time slot and I pulled into spot 4, but the wait was 20 minutes and a few items were swapped for brands I didn't ask for. It was convenient but I missed picking my own produce, has anyone else had mixed results with grocery pickup?

Wait 20 minutes for them to swap my good tomatoes for bruised ones? That's not convenience, that's grocery roulette with extra steps. I tried the pickup thing once and got so mad about the produce swap I had to pull over in the parking lot and check everything before I drove off. Like, I get it, they're busy, but don't tell me I'm getting "substitutions" when you really just grabbed whatever was closest to the register. At least inside the store I can side-eye the baggers and give them the death stare when they try to shove a sad onion in my bag.

Man, yeah. @emery_craig hit it right on the head. I hate that swap game. They think we can't tell a good tomato from a bad one. It's not about being picky. It's about paying for quality and getting garbage. At the store I can stand there and make them find me a decent one. This pickup stuff just feels like a trap.
