Unpopular take: That company with the amazing phone support actually failed me hard
I always see people raving about Zappos customer service, so I called them last month when my boots showed up with a loose stitch. The rep was super friendly but took 22 minutes to process a simple return and then sent me the wrong label. Has anyone else had a slow experience with companies that have a "great service" reputation?

My buddy Dave called a well known outdoor gear company about a tent zipper that broke after two trips. The rep was super nice but put him on hold three times and then mixed up his shipping address. He ended up getting someone else's replacement pole set instead of the zipper repair kit he needed.

Dave's buddy got a free pole set out of it, didn't he? That sounds like a win to me, honestly, because those poles can cost more than a zipper repair kit. Maybe he can trade it on a gear forum and come out ahead, right?
