Why does nobody mention asking for a floor model discount?

Bought a washing machine at Lowe's in Phoenix last week. The display model was sitting there with a tiny dent on the side. I asked the manager if they'd knock something off. He took 40% off without even blinking. Saved $280 on a machine that works perfectly. Has anyone else tried this and gotten a deal?

Respectfully, I dont think its that common because most people just buy the new one in the box without asking. The dent is probably why they knocked 40% off, that is a big hit to the price they wanted for it. You got lucky for sure but its not like every floor model is gonna get you that kind of deal.

Respectfully, I see it differently, Ngl floor model deals are way more common than you think.

They said "way more common than you think" and theyre right. Most people just dont ask, but if you go in and haggle a bit you can walk out with a floor model for way less than sticker.
