Got hit with a fake password reset text while I was at the DMV last Tuesday

I was sitting in line waiting for my number to be called when a text popped up saying my bank account was locked and I nearly clicked the link before realizing the URL was 'secure-bank-verify.co' instead of my actual bank, so I forwarded it to their fraud team instead and blocked the number - has anyone else noticed these phishing texts getting WAY more convincing lately?

Oh yeah, that's way too close to a real bank URL for comfort lol. The scammers are definitely stepping up their game with those legit-looking templates and even using real bank logos sometimes. Good call forwarding it to their fraud team though, that's exactly what you're supposed to do with those.

Did a friend of mine fall for this same trick last month? He got a "FedEx package delivery" text with a tracking link that looked almost identical to the real one, clicked it, and ended up with a fake login page for his email. Took him two days and a call to his IT guy at work to clean up the mess.
