I compared using a password manager to my old notebook method for a year. The difference was 3 compromised accounts vs. zero.

Honestly, same here, total game changer.

Totally get that. I used to do the same lazy password thing for random sites. It feels so much safer now knowing a data leak on some small forum can't domino into my important stuff. Setting up the manager felt like a chore at first but the peace of mind is worth it. Makes you realize how risky the old way really was.

The thing I never thought about was how it stops me from reusing passwords on sites I don't care about. My old notebook had the same three codes for everything. Now my throwaway forum account has a 20 character monster, so a breach there can't touch my email.
