Just realized I've been using the same password since 2016 after a scare last night
I was scrolling through my password manager and saw this old account I had. Turns out my bank login from 8 years ago still uses the same weak password. I only thought about it because my cousin got his Instagram hacked last week and the guy who did it got into his email too. Made me go through all my accounts and change the big ones. How often do you guys actually rotate your important passwords?

People treat passwords like old gym memberships, just kind of forget about them until something bad happens. The real issue is most people reuse the same 3 passwords across everything and don't realize how easy it is for someone to string that together. A little paranoia every few months with your banking and email saves a ton of headache later.

Is a password manager really that much better than just rotating a few good passwords? I've seen a lot of people recommend them but I still worry about one weak link letting someone into everything. Using a few different passwords for low risk sites and a separate strong one for banking has worked for me for years. It's not perfect but it's better than using the same password for everything like a lot of folks do.
