Tried turning off auto-updates to save bandwidth and got hit hard
Turned off Windows updates for 3 months to save on data caps back in 2021, then got hit with a ransomworm that locked my files. Had to wipe everything clean because I ignored the patches. Anyone else learn this the hard way?
