Was chatting with a friend who runs a small business and she said 'I just use the same password for everything since it's easier'

Told her about password managers for maybe the fifth time, but this time I showed her how a data breach site works and she watched her email pop up in 3 different leaks. Anyone else find that showing people their own compromised info works way better than just warning them?

holy crap, three different leaks? that's insane. i feel like people just don't get how common this is until they see their own email sitting there in plain text on some random site. like it's one thing to hear "you should use a password manager" and another to see your login for some random forum from 2015 just hanging out for anyone to grab.

yeah it's a real wake-up call when you see your own stuff out there like that. kinda makes you feel like you left your wallet on a park bench or something.
