Was totally skeptical about password managers until my work email got hit

I used to think password managers were just another subscription scam, you know? I'd been using the same 3 passwords for everything for like 5 years. Then last month my work email got compromised because someone guessed my weak password on a forum I used. Lost access to my Slack and a project file for 2 days while IT sorted it out. After that I tried Bitwarden's free tier just to see, and honestly it's been a lifesaver. I've got 40 different passwords now and I don't have to remember any of them. Has anyone else had a close call that finally pushed them to change their habits?

yeah I mean I get it, a hack sucks for sure. but the way people talk about password managers sometimes feels like they're selling a miracle cure. I've been using the same handful of passwords for years and honestly never had a problem. maybe I'm just lucky idk. it's not like I'm running a bank or anything where someone's gonna go to that much trouble to get into my stuff. I can see the appeal for work stuff though, that's a different level of risk I guess.

Bitwarden's free tier did the trick for me too after my own close call. Getting that first email about a login attempt from another country woke me up real fast. Now I just let the thing generate random passwords and don't think twice about it.

Man that first email really does get your heart racing! @mason_flores21 I had the same thing happen with my Netflix account of all things. Someone in Russia logged in and I was like well great now I gotta change everything. Bitwarden's free version has been solid for me too. I just let it make up crazy passwords like "G7xq!mR2" and don't even bother remembering them anymore. Way less stress now honestly.
