Caught my kid repeating something I said and it stung

My 8 year old told his friend that 'feelings are just noise, deal with it' and I realized that's exactly the phrase I used last Tuesday after a rough day at work. It made me wonder how much of my own frustration I'm passing down without thinking. Anyone else heard their own words come back in a way that made them stop and rethink?

Noticed the same thing with my own kids when I hear them snap at each other in my exact tone, makes me realize they're basically little mirrors running on a delay. Makes you want to watch every word you say around them, even the stuff you think you're muttering under your breath.
