DAE remember when a 5 gallon bucket of paint cost $38? Paid $62 at the register last Saturday
Back in 2011 I painted houses in Boise and we'd grab two buckets at the Sherwin Williams on Fairview for under $80. Last weekend I walked out with one bucket and a roller and it ran me $74, and I just stood in the parking lot doing the math in my head like an old man. Do you guys still buy the good stuff or have you switched to whatever's on sale and just plan on a second coat?

Wait, a single bucket and a roller came out to $74? That is wild. My brain keeps wanting to read it as $47 and I have to go back and look again. I get that paint got more expensive like everything else, but that jump is hard to swallow. We used to treat a bucket of the good stuff as a normal purchase, not something you think about for a week. At these prices I would probably buy the cheaper brand and just accept doing two coats.
