My phone fell in a puddle during my lunch walk yesterday and I actually fixed it myself
Was walking around Miller Park when it started pouring, slipped on wet grass, and my phone went straight into a murky puddle. I yanked the battery out, buried it in a bag of rice for 8 hours, and it booted right up this morning with zero issues - has anyone else had a close call like that where you got lucky?

Boy howdy, that's a close call! I've always wondered though, how many people actually remember to pull the battery out fast enough before the water seeps all the way in? You must have had lightning quick reflexes there. Was the rice trick really the game changer, or do you think just letting it dry out with the battery out would have done the same thing?

Man, pulling the battery out quick is key. I dropped my phone in a puddle once and yanked it out in like 2 seconds. Rice did help soak up the moisture for sure, but honestly just leaving it in a warm dry spot with the battery out for a day did most of the work.
