Watching a barista in Spokane refuse to rush a pour over made me slow down today

I stopped at this little shop on Division and she stood there for a full 4 minutes just swirling water through the grounds, not even looking at the line. It got me thinking about how much of my own day I spend rushing through things that probably deserve more patience, like wrapping a pipe joint or even just talking to my kid. What's something you saw a stranger do that made you rethink your own pace?

Just set a timer and commit to not touching it until it goes off.

Holy cow, you actually do that?? Just set a timer and then not touch it??? I don't think I have that kind of willpower in me honestly. My phone could be across the room and I'd still find a way to reach for it. Even if I put it on silent I'd probably sit there staring at the clock waiting for it to go off. I'd probably give up after like 2 minutes and just grab it anyway. That takes some serious self control man.
