Blew $120 on a fancy 'game ready' USB cable for my controller
Ngl I fell for that whole 'low latency gaming cable' ads on Instagram last month. Paid 120 bucks thinking it'd fix my input lag in shooters. Used it for 2 weeks and my K/D ratio didn't change at all. Honestly feeling dumb now because my 8 year old stock cable performs exactly the same. Has anyone else wasted cash on these gimmick cables or am I the only one?

Did you ever notice how people will buy $50 HDMI cables at Best Buy when the $10 one works just fine? It's the same kind of marketing trick, they just know dudes will pay extra for anything labeled "gaming" or "premium".

Yeah the "gaming" tax is totally real... my buddy paid $80 for a "gaming" ethernet cable once thinking it would lower his ping. It did nothing different than the $12 one I gave him from Amazon. They just slap a logo on the box and double the price.
