Checked out the new trail extension at Miller Park and the grading on one section looks off

It's a steep incline that seems like it'll wash out with the first heavy rain. Should I mention it to the parks department or just let it go?

Have you seen any drainage features along that section, like gravel trenches or water bars? Sometimes those get added later but they're crucial on steep grades. A quick call to the parks department might save them a bigger repair job down the road. They usually want to know about potential issues before they become real problems.

Man, that's a real bummer. Seen that happen before on trails, and it's a total mess after a storm. Definitely give the parks folks a heads up. They'd probably rather hear about it now than have to fix a giant rut later.

Yeah, and if it's a popular trail, maybe check if any local hiking groups have a volunteer day coming up. Sometimes they'll organize a quick fix like adding some log steps or moving rocks to guide the water off the path before the parks crew can get there. I saw a group do that over on the Pine Ridge loop last year and it held up pretty well. Could be a faster solution than waiting for an official work order, right?
