Co-worker's offhand remark about my lunch made me second guess leftovers

Last Tuesday in the break room, a guy I barely know looked at my tupperware of chili and said "you actually eat that leftover stuff?" He was joking, but it stuck with me all day. I've packed leftovers for years because it saves me about $40 a week, and I never thought twice about it. Now I'm wondering if reheating food at my desk is weird to other people, or if he was just being a jerk. Has anyone else had a small comment like that make them suddenly rethink a totally normal routine?

Wait, he said "you actually eat that leftover stuff" like it's some kind of weirdo behavior? That's like being SHOCKED someone breathes air. Leftovers are basically free food that you already paid for and cooked once. Throwing that away just because it's not fresh from a restaurant is wasting money AND time. I'd bet real cash that guy drops $12 on a sad sandwich every day and complains about being broke. That comment says way more about his spending habits than it does about your lunch.
