Hit 10,000 steps a day for a whole month without trying and it changed my morning routine
I started tracking my steps a few weeks back just to see how lazy I really was. Turns out, I was averaging around 4,000 steps a day, mostly from walking to the fridge. So I made one small change - I park my car at the far end of the lot at work instead of hunting for a close spot. That plus taking a 10 minute walk after lunch pushed me over 10,000 steps every day for 30 days straight. I didn't even notice it until my watch buzzed with a congratulations message last Tuesday. My legs feel less stiff and my back doesn't ache as much by evening. Has anyone else tried a simple tweak like parking farther away that actually stuck?

fridge to parking lot pipeline is real lol. love how you mention "without trying" because that's exactly how the good habits stick. i started doing the same thing last year - i take the stairs at the mall even if i'm on floor 4. at first it felt dumb cause i was out of breath. now i don't even think about it and my legs just go. it's wild how these tiny things add up without you realizing it. your back thing is interesting cause mine got better to after a month of just standing more during the day.

Parking farther away just wastes time and adds unnecessary walking to your day. If your back hurts from sitting, the real fix is better posture and a decent chair, not padding your step count. Most people don't have 10 minutes for a walk after lunch either, that's a luxury not everyone can afford.
