My aunt's one question made me rethink how I meal prep for the week
I've been doing Sunday meal prep for like two years now, always making the same chicken and rice bowls with roasted veggies. Last month my aunt came over while I was portioning everything into those glass containers and she asked, "Are you actually excited to eat any of this?" And honestly I froze because I wasn't, I was just eating it because it was convenient. That got me thinking about how I was spending about 3 hours every Sunday making food I didn't even look forward to. I tried switching to a few flexible base ingredients instead of full meals, like grilled protein plus different sauces and toppings I can mix all week. So now I'm stuck on whether I should keep the prep but add more variety, or totally ditch the Sunday block and just cook fresh every other night. Has anyone else had their routine questioned by a family member and actually changed what they were doing?
