PSA: I used to just toss my leftovers in the fridge and play roulette with food poisoning

For the longest time I would just throw any leftover takeout in the fridge and forget about it until I got hungry again a few days later. No labels, no dates, just pure chaos. Then about three months ago I pulled out some Thai food that smelled fine but gave me the worst 24 hour bug I've ever had. I was up all night with stomach cramps and honestly thought I was gonna have to call off work. Now I write the date on everything with a sharpie before it even goes in the fridge, and I toss anything older than 4 days without even smelling it. Has anyone else gotten burned by old leftovers and changed their whole system?

Pure chaos" is the name of my entire fridge system.

Makes you think most people's organizational systems are just controlled chaos dressed up as a plan. At the end of the day the only rule that matters is nothing goes bad before you eat it.
