Shoutout to the library clerk who set me straight on audiobooks
I was at the downtown library last Tuesday picking up a hold, and I mentioned to the clerk that I never bother with audiobooks because I can't focus on them. She looked at me and said, "You're probably picking the wrong narrator. Try a memoir read by the author." I figured why not, so I grabbed "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah. Listened to it during my commute for three days straight, and I finally got what she meant. The author's voice adds something you just don't get from reading the page. Has anyone else had a narrator totally change how you felt about a book?

Totally agree, Trevor Noah's narration made that book hit completely different for me too.

@the_julia audiobooks with the author narrating are ALWAYS better, trust me.
