Think pre-ground coffee is fine after switching to whole bean 6 weeks ago
I always thought people who bought whole bean coffee were just being snobs. For years I used pre-ground Folgers from the can and thought it was perfectly good. Then my brother gave me a cheap hand grinder for my birthday back in March. I figured I'd try it just to shut him up. First cup I made with freshly ground beans from the same grocery store was completely different. The smell alone filled my whole kitchen in a way the pre-ground never did. After 6 weeks I can't go back. Anyone else have a friend who nagged them into trying something they were sure wouldn't matter?

Nah man, I gotta call you on this one. I've tried the whole bean thing and honestly didn't notice enough of a difference to make it worth the extra hassle or money. My morning routine is chaotic enough as it is, I don't need another step.

@ray324 maybe your grinder just couldn't get a consistent enough grind to notice the difference.
