Update: Bought a 15 dollar bike lock and got my wheels stolen
Last week I got a cheap cable lock from the grocery store for 15 bucks... thought it would be fine for quick errands. Parked my bike outside the library for 20 minutes and came back to find just the frame left. Both wheels were gone and the lock was cut clean through. I learned the hard way that those thin cables are basically scissors magnets... anyone else have a budget lock fail on them?

Shoulda gone with a U-lock for half that price at a pawn shop.

Oh man, that stinks. I figured those cheap cable locks were basically just a suggestion to thieves, not a real deterrent. You basically paid 15 bucks to learn what everyone finds out the hard way, I guess.
