Caught myself scrubbing a commercial kitchen floor with degreaser that was way too harsh for the tile

The building inspector pointed out the pitting on my terrazzo after a routine check last Tuesday, and I finally connected the dots that my method was eating through the sealant the whole time, has anyone else switched to a milder cleaner after realizing they were damaging their floors?

Three years ago I switched from bleach to a simple vinegar and water mix for my bathroom grout after noticing yellow stains coming back faster than before. It made me realize how many cleaning products are basically overkill for what we actually need to clean. Have you noticed other areas where stronger isn't always better?

omg YES i totally get that. for me it's laundry detergent - i used to dump a ton in thinking cleaner clothes but everything came out stiff and smelling weird. now i use like half the recommended amount and it's way better. also dishes man, you dont need that much soap at all.

Man I did the same thing with dish soap, thought you needed a ton to cut through grease but honestly a tiny squirt does the same job and my hands don't get all dried out.
