Found a way to get faster oil changes at my fleet account

I run a small dog grooming shop and we have a van for picking up supplies. The commercial oil change place on Michigan Ave kept taking 2 hours for a simple change. I started booking my appointment online the night before instead of just showing up. Now I'm in and out in 45 minutes tops. Anyone else found a trick to cut down wait times at these places?

Wait, two hours for an oil change? That's insane. How do they even justify that when you're sitting in their waiting room watching the clock? I'd be losing my mind if I had to kill that much time for a basic service.

Not really, I'm with @the_susan on being prepared. You guys must be going to the wrong places.

Jumping off what @charlesanderson was saying, the whole waiting room anxiety is real. I've seen guys pacing like caged animals after the first hour. What worked for me was calling ahead to ask what their slowest window is, usually right before lunch or late afternoon. I also started asking for the exact bay number when I check in, so they can't just park my van and forget about it. And here's a weird one, I bring a small task like organizing receipts while I wait. It makes the time go faster and they see me working, so they tend to hustle a little more. Experience says a visible customer is a remembered customer.
