Hired a commercial window cleaning crew in Detroit and they found something behind the glass
I manage a small office building near Eastern Market and hired a crew to clean the exterior windows on the second floor last Tuesday. They called me outside about an hour in and pointed at a row of cracks in the caulking that I had never noticed from the ground. The guy said those gaps were letting in water and probably had been for a year or more. I walked the whole building after they left and found 6 more spots with the same problem on the north side. I had been budgeting for new windows next year but now I am wondering if a resealing job is the smarter move. The window guys quoted $1,800 to redo all the caulk versus the $14,000 I was expecting for replacements. Has anyone here dealt with a similar situation and did the resealing actually hold up through a Detroit winter?
