Just realized my snow plow guy was cutting corners on parking lots

I own a small roofing crew and we park our trucks in a lot downtown Detroit. Last January after a big snow, I noticed ice patches building up in weird spots. Turns out the plow guy was only pushing snow into piles and not actually clearing down to the pavement, leaving a thin layer that iced over. I asked him about it and he said, "That's how everyone does it to save salt." Anyone else run into commercial service contractors doing half the job and charging full price?

So he's saving salt by leaving ice? That's like a barber skipping the back of your head to save shampoo. Real smart until somebody's truck slides into a light pole and his insurance has to sort it out.

Aw man that's such a bummer. I feel you on this though, I've had the same thing happen with my lawn care guy back in the day - he'd mow but leave all the clippings in clumps and call it good. It's frustrating when you pay for a full job and get half the effort. The ice patches sound dangerous too, like if one of your guys slipped that'd be a whole different problem. Hope you can find someone who actually clears it right before next winter hits.
