Picked a local Detroit commercial cleaner over a national chain and the difference showed up in 2 weeks
We run a tree service lot off Michigan Ave and needed our shop and office cleaned twice a month, so I got quotes from a national franchise and a small company out of Southwest Detroit. The franchise sent a different crew each visit and missed the grease trap behind the breakroom twice, while the local guys sent the same two people who knew our layout by the second trip and flagged a leak under the sink I had not noticed. Anybody else switched to a smaller local vendor for commercial work here and had it go the same way, or did I just get lucky with these guys?

Did you lock in a contract with them before you started, or is it just a handshake deal? Honestly the same two people thing matters more than people realize, because they learn your space and stop missing stuff. I would ask them to write up a simple checklist of what gets done each visit, grease trap included, so if somebody ever calls out sick you have proof of what the sub missed. Sounds like you found a good one, not luck.
