Rant: A cleaning company in Warren quoted me $1,200 for 4,000 sq ft, then ghosted me mid job
Hired a commercial cleaning outfit out of Warren to do our shop floor and break room on a Friday night, and they quoted $1,200 for 4,000 sq ft. Crew showed up late, did about half the square footage, then the van was just gone by 11pm. I called the owner Saturday morning and got voicemail 6 times in a row. Ended up mopping the rest myself with a $40 deck brush from Home Depot. Has anyone else had a Detroit area commercial cleaner bail halfway through a job, and how did you get your money back?
Did you pay any of it upfront or was it all supposed to be after the job? Wondering because if you put a card down, you can dispute the charge with your bank. Six calls and no answer on a Saturday is pretty rough though.
Tbh disputing a charge is not always as easy as people make it sound. If it was a cash job or he paid through some app like Zelle or Venmo, the bank basically tells you tough luck and you are out of that money. I get why people jump to the chargeback advice but half these contractors want cash or a transfer for a reason. And yeah six calls on a Saturday with no answer is bad, but a lot of these guys are literally on a job site and not glued to their phone. That does not mean he should not be blowing them up, I just think the bank thing only works if he actually used a credit card.
