Showed up to a demo at the old RenCen last Tuesday and found pigeons had claimed the space first
The client's assistant just laughed and said "good luck" when I walked in, so I spent the first 20 minutes shooing birds out of the drop ceiling before I could even pull out my measuring tape, has anyone else run into wildlife taking over a job site downtown?

Pigeons are basically the OFFICIAL squatters of every half-empty building downtown, it's honestly impressive how they just CLAIM a space before anyone even gets a chance to use it. I noticed this pattern everywhere now, it's like wildlife is slowly but surely taking back what we abandoned. You see it in parking lots with geese nesting next to broken concrete or raccoons running through alleys like they own the place. That assistant's laugh was probably just her knowing the birds have a better lease than most tenants do. Feels like we're all just guests in their city at this point, especially in these old buildings that have been empty for years. One time I saw a hawk sitting on a "For Lease" sign like it was guarding the place, and nobody even bothered to move it.

Is it just me or are the critters getting bolder everywhere? I was at the bus stop last week and a squirrel literally sat down next to me on the bench like we were waiting together.
