TIL changing office lighting saved us $200 a month on electric bills

We run a small commercial cleaning company in Warren and the fluorescent tubes in our main office were buzzing nonstop. I swapped out 12 old fixtures for LED panels last month, and our electric bill dropped from $380 to $180. The lights are brighter too, and we haven't had a single flicker issue. Has anyone else tried switching their shop or office lighting to see similar savings?

My garage shop dropped about $150 a month after I put in 8 LED panels and ditched the old fluorescent tubes. No more buzzing or flicker issues here either.

Right on, that's the real savings right there. Once you kill the ballasts and the old magnetic hum, you're basically not wasting any energy on heat or flicker. I swapped out a dozen T8s in my workshop for those wrap-around LED strips and saw almost the same drop, plus my eyes don't get that tired after a few hours of detail work. The color quality is way better for spotting defects in wood grain too, which is something you never really think about until you're squinting at a finish. Makes you wonder why anyone would stick with those buzzing tubes when the payoff is this obvious.
