TIL the city permit office on Woodward needs a site plan stamped twice, and it cost me 5 weeks
Went in for a simple occupancy permit for a 1,200 sq ft space near Eastern Market and got bounced back three times because the zoning reviewer wanted the surveyor's seal on a separate sheet, not the same page as the floor plan. Nobody at the counter mentioned it on my first two visits, so that little detail ate 5 weeks I didn't have before my lease started. Has anyone found a runner or expediters who actually know the current checklist before you walk in the door?
