Update: I paid for a commercial dumpster service in Detroit and they left a huge mess
Honestly, I hired a company to drop off a dumpster for a big clean out at my small shop. They said it would be a simple swap, but when they picked up the full one, they left behind a pile of broken wood and trash that fell out. Tbh, it was like a 3 foot wide pile of junk right in the parking spot. I had to call them back twice and they acted like it was my problem. I learned you really need to check the contract for who handles spillage, because mine didn't say a thing about it. Now I'm stuck cleaning it up myself. Has anyone else had a dumpster company in Detroit leave a bigger mess than they took?

Check if your business insurance might cover the cleanup cost from their mess. Sometimes a property damage claim from a third party's negligence is included, and filing one can light a fire under the company to fix things fast. Did you take pictures of the pile before you cleaned it up?

Filing an insurance claim for something like that can be a real headache. My experience is they'll often raise your rates later, even if the other party was at fault. I'd try getting the company to pay directly through small claims court before involving my own policy.
