Dropped $800 on a new torque multiplier for the big rigs and I'm on the fence
I had a job on a Kenworth with seized lug nuts that my 1-inch gun just laughed at. The multiplier got them off in minutes, saving a huge tow bill. But now I'm looking at this big, heavy tool that I've used exactly once in three months. Part of me says it's a lifesaver for that one awful job, the other part says it's a lot of cash sitting in the box. For those of you who have one, how often do you actually pull yours out?

Honestly that thing paid for itself on one Kenworth, ngl.

Have to disagree with you on this one, palmer.jana. Used a similar tool on our fleet and the results were just okay. It found some minor stuff early on, but never caught the big transmission issue that took a truck out for a week. Felt like it just gave a false sense of security. The money we spent on it could have gone straight into better scheduled maintenance instead. Just didn't live up to the hype for our situation.

Man, I heard a guy on a truck forum call tools like that "truck insurance." You don't need it every day, but when you do, nothing else works. That tow bill you saved probably covered most of the cost anyway. It's just gonna sit there until the next nightmare job, and then you'll be so glad it's in the box.
