Frustrated with friends who expect instant diagnoses over the phone
They describe a noise and expect me to pinpoint the issue without seeing the engine. It's like asking a doctor to diagnose based on a text message.

Seriously, "like asking a doctor to diagnose based on a text message"... that's wild. I can't believe they actually expect you to figure it out from just a noise.

In 2022, I laughed at the idea of diagnosing car trouble from a sound clip. I always thought you had to be there in person to figure it out. But then I saw a video where a mechanic pinpointed a bad bearing just from a grinding noise. He broke down the sound frequencies, and it totally made sense after that!
