Had the worst Monday yanking a blown motor out of a Pete 379 near Tulsa

I spent 12 hours straight trying to get a seized 3406E out of a 2002 Pete 379 last week. The rear motor mount bolt snapped off flush with the block and I had to drill and easy-out it at a super awkward angle. Guys at the shop were useless because they were all busy on other rigs. Has anyone else had a job just fight you every step of the way like that?

Read about a guy who torched his easy-out and still got it.

Oh my, that's something you don't hear every day, @the_kevin. It reminds me how people will try just about anything when they're stuck, whether it's a broken bolt or a jammed zipper on a winter coat. We've all been there, pushing too hard and making things worse instead of slow and steady like you should. It's funny how the simple, patient approach usually works best, but we always try the shortcut first.

The world's full of people who'd rather fight an impossible problem than admit they need the right tool or a second set of hands. It's like we're all wired to make things ten times harder before we finally give in and do it the easy way.
