Hot take: I think a lot of you are over-reliant on electronic diagnostic tools

Had a 2015 Freightliner throw a code last week that had three different scanners pointing at three different culprits, so I pulled out my pressure gauge and found the real problem in ten minutes. Anyone else find themselves trusting their ears and a feeler gauge more than a computer anymore?

Honestly, it's refreshing to hear someone say that. I've been burned by scan tools pointing me in the wrong direction more times than I'd like to admit.

@mason_flores21 you're not alone on that one. The real kicker is that these tools make people forget how to listen to the truck itself. I had a CEL that everyone swore was a sensor, turned out the belt was slipping under load and messing with the alternator output. A trained ear catches that in seconds, no wifi required.
