I always thought a 3/8 drive was fine for head bolts until a foreman in Omaha told me I was risking uneven torque.

He showed me his 1/2-inch torque wrench and said 'You're leaving money on the table with comebacks.' Now I use the right tool every time. Anyone else get called out on a bad habit that actually stuck?

Drive size doesn't affect torque accuracy though.

I read that bigger drives can actually slip before the click.

Slip before the click" sounds like a torque wrench thing, not drive size.
