Just realized how wrong I was about cleaning injectors after a job in Billings

I was working on a 6.7 Powerstroke last month, swapping out the turbo. After I got everything back together, the truck ran rough. My boss walked over, pulled an injector, and showed me the tiny bit of shop towel lint stuck in the tip. He said, 'You can't just blow them out with air, you gotta use the cleaner spray every single time.' Now I keep a can of that spray on my cart for every fuel system job. Anyone else have a simple step they used to skip that caused a big headache?

Man, I used to think that was overkill too. Watched a tech at my old shop do the full spray clean on every injector and thought he was just wasting time. Had my own comeback on a Duramax that changed my mind real quick. Now I don't touch one without that can.

My old shop in Boise had a rule about brake cleaner on caliper slide pins. I thought a quick wipe was fine until I had a comeback for a stuck caliper. Now I drown those pins in cleaner and use the little brush from the parts kit every time. It adds maybe thirty seconds to the job.
