Spent $80 on a cheap injector puller, ended up costing me $400 in shop time
I bought a Chinese injector puller off Amazon for 80 bucks last month to save money on a job. First use on a 6.7 Powerstroke, the damn thing snapped and I had to tow the truck to a machine shop to get the broken piece out. Has anyone else had a cheap tool bite them like that or am I just unlucky?

Honestly, $80 for a tool versus $400 for a shop is a gamble that sometimes just doesn't pay off. Cheap tools can work fine for light use, but on a high torque job like injectors you're rolling the dice. Next time maybe try a big name brand puller, the extra money upfront might save you a headache later.

Saw a buddy snap his cheap puller in half on a stuck injector, sent metal shards flying everywhere. Almost took his hand off with the recoil. That $80 gamble turned into an ER trip and a whole weekend wasted. The name brand tool cost twice as much but he's used it on three trucks since without a single issue. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for with this kind of stuff.
