Compared my old Wacom tablet to an iPad Pro for a mural showcase in Detroit

My Wacom kept disconnecting mid-stroke during the live demo, the iPad just worked and let me zoom in on tiny details without lag. Has anyone else found the iPad smoother for public showcases or am I just unlucky with my tablet?

With a Wacom you're tethered to a laptop or desktop, and in a busy public space like a mural showcase, people bump into tables, kick cables, spill drinks. The iPad lets you stand wherever you want, hold it in one hand, and draw with the other while moving around the crowd. That physical freedom changes everything for live demos, not just the technical specs. Nobody talks about how awkward it is to have a stationary setup when people are walking through and you need to angle the screen toward them. The iPad makes the whole experience more interactive and less fragile, which matters more than millisecond differences in response time.

She said the iPad Pro's display calibration and palm rejection were way more reliable than her older Wacom, especially with the Apple Pencil's tilt sensitivity going haywire in public settings. The latency difference is apparently huge the iPad has like 9ms response time while tablets can spike to 50ms under load. Your Wacom disconnecting sounds like a power or driver issue though maybe try a different USB port or a powered hub next time. Public demos are brutal on gear so the iPad's simplicity probably saves a lot of headache.
