Fixed my color banding issue after 2 years of fighting it

I spent forever trying to fix banding in my gradients using dithering and noise, turns out my monitor was set to 8-bit instead of 10-bit the whole time. Found out when I plugged into a friend's pro display at his studio in Austin and the same file looked smooth as butter. Anyone else have a hardware setting make you feel like an idiot?
