Found my old tablet drawings from 2018 and cringed hard

I was cleaning out my hard drive last night and stumbled on a folder of sketches I did when I first got my Wacom. The anatomy was so bad, like every figure had a tiny head and giant hands. Has anyone else looked back at their early stuff and just felt weird about it?

Oh man, same here. I found some old digital sketches from back when I was just messing around with a cheap tablet and the proportions were just all over the place. The heads were tiny like you said, but my hands were always way too small and the feet were just these weird blobs. I remember one drawing where I tried to do a character standing up and the legs looked like two different people's legs glued together. It's funny because at the time I thought it looked great, now I just sit there and wonder what I was even thinking.

And the worst part is you cant even blame the software because it was all user error. I remember spending hours on a single drawing thinking I was nailing the shading and perspective but looking back it was just a mess of misplaced highlights and wobbly lines. The hands thing gets me too, I drew so many character with fingers that looked like sausages or sticks with no joints at all. It feels almost embarrassing now because I showed those drawings to people like they were something special. But honestly I think its a good sign because it means we actually improved and learned to see the mistakes we couldnt notice before. At least we saved them to look back on instead of deleting everything in a fit of shame.

Lol yes, I had a phase where every hand was just a mitten with five lumps for fingers.
