Hot take: I was wrong about art prompts being useless
I used to roll my eyes at daily prompt challenges on Instagram, but after trying a 30 day one last month, it actually pushed me to try stuff like lighting angles and color combos I never woulda touched. Has anyone else had a prompt challenge change how they draw?

Not sure a daily prompt challenge is that deep. It's basically like following a cookbook to bake a cake. You might learn a few techniques you wouldn't have tried otherwise, but it doesn't suddenly make you a chef. Maybe it works for some people if they're really stuck in a rut, but I'd argue most of those prompts are just generic filler. Your mileage may vary, but I'd rather just mess around on my own terms.

Treat the prompts like a warm-up sketch, not a final piece, and steal the bits that shake off your rust.
