I finally matched my gallery frame colors to the art instead of the couch

Last Friday I hung a new piece in my living room and noticed the warm orange frame totally clashed with the cool blue painting. Someone in the comments of a subreddit said framing should serve the art, not the furniture, and that stuck with me. I swapped three frames over the weekend, spending about $40 on mat board from a local shop in Portland. The blue now pops way harder, and my wife actually said the room looks intentional for once. Does anyone else re-frame pieces they've owned for years just because the context changed?
