I used to think you needed a $2,000 tablet for good digital art
For years I only drew on a big Cintiq, believing cheaper gear held you back. Then my old one broke and I had to use my phone and a $30 stylus for a month, and my art actually got better because I focused on ideas, not tools. Has anyone else found that simpler gear helped their work?

My old iPad forced me to focus on basics.

I read this interview with a comic artist who said his best work was done on a busted old tablet with a cracked screen. Makes you wonder about all that fancy gear.
