I wasted $200 on a drawing tablet I never needed

Bought a fancy screen tablet off Craigslist last year thinking it would make my art look pro overnight. Turns out my cheap old non-screen tablet does the same thing, just takes a few days to get used to. The screen one just sits in my closet now. Anyone else buy gear that ended up collecting dust?

Craigslist buyer beware honestly. Spent $150 on a "gaming keyboard" with all these fancy macro keys once. Thing was so loud I returned it same day. My old $30 keyboard works fine. People just get tricked into thinking expensive gear = instant skill.

Yeah I feel that. I scored a mechanical keyboard off Facebook Marketplace for like $40, some dude was moving and just wanted it gone. It's one of those older ones with the clicky switches that sound like a typewriter but honestly I've grown to love the noise, it gives me that satisfying feedback. But I get what you're saying about expensive gear, I was dead set on dropping $200 on a "pro gaming mouse" once until I tried my buddy's and realized my hand cramp city layout just didn't work for me. I'm still using the same basic Logitech mouse I got for $15 two years ago, works fine for everything I play. The trick is figuring out what you actually need not what looks cool in ads, and secondhand stuff can be a goldmine if you test it first. People get carried away with RGB and macro keys but half the time it's just clutter.
