My art teacher told me to stop drawing with a mouse back in 2010 and I finally get it
In my first digital art class at the community college, my teacher, Mr. Vance, looked at my wobbly line work and said, 'You're fighting the tool. A mouse is for clicking, not drawing. Get a tablet or quit.' I was mad and kept using my mouse for years, convinced skill was all that mattered. It wasn't until I bought a basic Wacom Intuos last fall, just a cheap one, that I understood. The pressure sensitivity alone changed everything. My lines had weight instantly, and shading became intuitive, not a fight with opacity sliders. I wasted over a decade being stubborn about hardware that was actively working against me. For those who started with a tablet, what was the first thing you noticed got way easier?

I used to think it was all about skill too.

Oh man, same. I was totally on that team until I saw how much luck is involved.
